Ok, When I boot (CD or HDD), I cannot get into X in Framebuffer mode and when I choose VESA it has very messed up colors. I'm using this on an old Presario 1030 Notebook, console works ok and I can access the computer but no GUI. My Video Card is a NeoMagic 2090 (128V). I need to know how to fix this for the existing server OR where to get a new server that would work, and how to install it. Thanks!

I have the same video card on my notebook and have the same Graphics problems for which I've tried, without success, to fish for a solution in this forum.  In the meantime, 'fb800x600' added at boot actually gives a very good display. A proper fix is of course much preferred :(

Well, I have found some fixes: A proprietary Xserver from Xi Graphics will work great, at the cost of some $$$. I believe Red Hat has some server that supports this chipset, no luck in finding it however. Right now I'm going to try the fb600x800 tip, thx.

I made a new thread with the fix, it works OK, I'm sure VESA would run better but, what you going to do? Anyway, check that out.
