 I don't recommend changing dsl's username. DSL has been designed around this user specifically, and changing it will mean a whole pile of extra work.  I suppose it's possible that most things dealing with user dsl go by the user id rather than username, but I haven't yet had any desire to delve into that.
 If you don't intend to use the myDSL system or backup/restore (i.e. if you have a traditional debian-style install), and don't mind tweaking some settings youself, you could always just add a new user.
