I have been given two Mitsubishi LXA550W touch screen monitors, and I was wondering if anyone out there has had any luck getting the touchscreen function to work under DSL?  It would be a sad waste of functionality to see these two old LCD screens going to waste used only as a monitor on some Windblows machine, but I haven't had any luck getting the touch screen to work under DSL, Ubuntu, CentOS, or Windows yet.  Any help would be really appreciated.

The full version of X (and maybe XFree86) has some support for touch screens, did you try the xorg-7.2 extension?

Haven't tried it yet, as I just found some mention of it in the older posts.  I am a bit of a newb when it comes to using the xfree (or any other for than nature) extensions, and am not quite sure where it needs to go and how to set it up.  Any pointers that could get me started?

From http://forums.onforce.com/viewtop....2d569c0
it seems your screen has a Microtouch touch screen. It should be supported in Xorg out of the box (autoconfiguring should be enough).

If you use the mydsl extension browser, you will find the xorg-7.2.uci extension in the testing section. The browser will download the extension and load it for you. Follow the instructions in the info file to configure xorg.
