first. I read the howto, oviusly, is not hard to do.

second. I made a .dsl with XFree86 and nvidia with the configuration of the howto. Becouse i want to have a module that installs directly my system when bootting. The first step is make XFree86 works.

third. The first error mentioned in the fist post is becouse when i made my "XFree86_nvidia_accel" i save this with the extension .dsl but the programs add's .tar.gz automatically. When i remove the .tar.gz the XFree86 binary was decompressed correctly but now i have other error that dont must be.

.tar.gz are the same as .dsl but dsl-load works diferent with them, are not?
if are not the same compression, here is the error. but i read a little bit how to make .dsl and is not dificult.

You should make it as a .dsl file since it is writing to multiple parts of the filesystem. One thing to remember is that xfree MUST be loaded before nvidia. When mydsl-load initiates at boot it goes alphabetically so you have to make sure the xfree is named something that appears before 'n' in nvidia. I have mine as 'myxfree.dsl' and 'xnvidia.dsl' just to be safe.  :)

It's great you're making .dsl files. We can always use another contributor to the community!

Good luck

thanks, if it works i will make an script to choose at boot time what XFree driver to use passing an option like xfree=nvidia if the option is not passed, the system start with the default configuration. Thats the idea.

the .dsl file i made is called XFree86_nvidia_accel.dsl and have both, Xfree86 and nvidia inside already configured for an "load and run". But doasn`t work

check with clivesay,
as he has an "all-in-one" extension that works for xfree and nvidia.
