Does anybody know how to disable the menu(by right click) and the toolbar at the bottom(workspace, icons etc) in the fluxbox?  I tried "session.screen0.toolbar.visible: true".  However, it seems not working.  Also, I need to disable the bottom toolbar.

You might wonder that I would not be able to launch any apps :)  Actually, you're right.  I will only use firefox that will be brought up automaticly by .xinitrc.

BTW.  The DSL takes too long to boot, especially the hotplug thing and the autoconfig.  Any ideas to speed up?

The only way to disable the menu is to edit the sources and recompile...it's not even a configure option.

For the toolbar, try replacing "true" with "false".  If that still doesn't work, try removing the .screen0 part.  I can't remember if flux stable allows for disabling the toolbar, but i think it probably does.

If all you want is firefox, you can skip fluxbox entirely.  Just replace the "fluxbox" in .xinitrc with "firefox".
Another option is to try evilwm...there's no menu, no toolbar, no window decorations...just a root window and hotkeys.

mikshaw, Thanks for  the reply.

The "false" option didn't work out.  And I tried to disable the .screen0 part. Still no luck.  It seems the X can't be started if fluxbox skiped, since  I couldn't  launch firefox without fluxbox.

What's evilwm?  Is it in DSL already? I couldn't find the command for that.

I forgot there are issues with running firefox with no window manager.  There *should* be no problem running X applications without a window manager...the window manager is just another application as far as X is concerned.
