If you experiment with the xfree86 and nvidia package until you get them working right, make a backup of you configs (.xinitrc and .xserverrc from /home/dsl, and XF86Config-4 from /etc/X11). Then simply put these three packages in the root of a mydsl CD to have them automatically load on boot, replacing the current xserver without having to remaster. Oh, you'll need to rename nvidia.dsl to something like xnvidia.dsl, so that it loads after xfree86 (mydsl apps load alphabetically). I assume you'd probably need to rename your backup file to load after BOTH of these, but I'm not really too sure.
So yeah, just add the three packages to the root of a mydsl CD and you'll get what you are after, without all of the hassles associated with attempting a remaster.
Personally I have no idea about getting a dual-monitor system working though... but I'd be interested in hearing the results, 'cause I've been toying with the idea of setting up two monitors...
