Hiya!
I'm trying to remaster DSL in order to get a livecd which support TwinScreen functionality directly on boot.
This needs the install of nVidia Driver (the easy step) and install of XFree86 or Xorg (the functionnality seems to work only with these XServers). So my little question is : how to install Xorg or XF86 permanently? (maybe a chroot?)
Ive succeeded in doing this on a Knoppix as it uses XF86 by default, but I love my DSL :D
Thanks!

If you experiment with the xfree86 and nvidia package until you get them working right, make a backup of you configs (.xinitrc and .xserverrc from /home/dsl, and XF86Config-4 from /etc/X11).
Then simply put these three packages in the root of a mydsl CD to have them automatically load on boot, replacing the current xserver without having to remaster.
Oh, you'll need to rename nvidia.dsl to something like xnvidia.dsl, so that it loads after xfree86 (mydsl apps load alphabetically).  I assume you'd probably need to rename your backup file to load after BOTH of these, but I'm not really too sure.

So yeah, just add the three packages to the root of a mydsl CD and you'll get what you are after, without all of the hassles associated with attempting a remaster.

Personally I have no idea about getting a dual-monitor system working though... but I'd be interested in hearing the results, 'cause I've been toying with the idea of setting up two monitors...

okok im succefull with integrating these packages with loading at boot, but its a long process so i would integrate this forever with remastering :D

for TwinScreen its just a few lines to add in XF86Config-4 :)
ill post them asap :D
