I'm new to DSL but have searched the forums for this; if I'm asking something which is documented elsewhere a pointer would be gratefully received.
I have a small Mini-ITX based PC which is now running DSL from a 512MB compact flash card (on an IDE interface).
I need to run LIRC on this box. As far as I can tell there aren't any suitable packages around so I'm going to have to do this from source.
What are my chances of doing this on this hardware? Do I need to put a hard disk in temporarily and copy the binaries across once they're made?
If I compile on completely different hardware (eg a VMWare virtual machine) will the binaries work on the intended hardware?
Is there a better way to do this?
