I just need to figure out how to mount a drive in general
and to my sata drive that is ntfs formatted in specific

I never used linux before at all, so even the smallest of things is kinda hard to figure out (i always give search engines a chance but I've been looking for over 2.5 hours now(seems a little long for such a simple thing))

let me know if it's just to dumb of a question to answer

Thanks for any help or enlightenment

open Emelfm file manager.
goto /mnt
you will see a list of drives/devices (e.g hda1, hda2, sda1,sda2..etc)
highlight one of them and click mount. (or right-click and mount if you like)
try this for each one until you see the contents of the drive you want.

if you want to do this from a command line (i.e inside X Term), a good
place to start is to type your question in Google.com.

1) Get SPECIFIC DSL version 2.1b and burn it to CD
2) At the boot prompt, type:

dsl sata

3) Once booted, open up the emelfm file manager and navigate to /mnt directory.  Then right-click on your desired mountpoint  name, for example "sda1" might be your 1st SATA drive and the 1st partition on this drive.  After you right-click on "sda1" a menu will appear.  Choose "Mount" and your files will then appear. FYI, NTFS support is READ ONLY.
