First, thank you to everyone who helped with my last question. I really appreciate it, and this looks like a great community!

Here is my frustration- I download mydsl extensions and they dissapear when I shutdown/reboot.

This seems strange, because on the other hand, the themes I installed with mydsl all remain, my desktop settings remain, even my theme and bookmarks in firefox remain. So why not mydsl extensions?

Is there a button I need to click or a file I need to backup?

When I shut down it warns me I have files that haven't been backed up and when I click on yes it takes me into EMelfm to the tmp directory (I think) but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do from there? Am I supposed to copy each individual file? Where to?

Thank you kindly for your help!

Sounds like the files you have installed are in RAM-disk, and when you boot they are gone for ever...

Just mount your USB-stick and copy the mydsl files to the stick..

Is there a directory I should specifically mount them to so they are restored (available in the menu) when I restart?

I haven't bothered with nvidia because I'm afraid I will loose it anyway when I reboot?

Nevermind I got it! Doh! I feel stupid. I read the getting started page twice before but this time I finally got it- just copy the mdsl downloads from the temp directory right onto the root directory of the drive. Wow! I've got to say with that addition now I'm really amazed at this little distro! It's my favorite so far. Normally I'm an ubuntu guy, but I came from an amiga background and this really reminds me of the amiga, and I love it. Only thing I miss from ubuntu are the smooth fonts. I don't suppose there's any way to have them on here? I think it's called antialiasing? Now to figure out how to remaster the cd so I can custom build the live cd for my laptop....
