Hi,

Just installed DSL, but have not been able to get the CDROM drive to work. I cannot mount the file system, nor even find the device

When i run the command:
$ sudo mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom

DSL Returns:
Mount: special device /dev/cdrom does not exist

How do i (a linux newbie) resolve this issue?

Thanks

Justin

make sure cdrom drive is connected properly.

it happened once for me. also which version of DSL are u using?

check

ls /dev/cdrom

see if the file exists.

also check the /etc/fstab file and see whether any entry is there for cdrom.

try /dev/scd0 ?

It's probably easier to use the mount.app tool in the bottom right corner.
