Okay,

When I have a program load automatically in .xinitrc the first mose move equals a double right click which will pop up the menu.  and in jwm it seems to alway pop up the control pannel.

Any Ideas?

it only does it if I launch a program in my .xinitrc.  No matter what program it is I launch.  Right now for instance I have the following programs.

/usr/local/bin/vnc4x.sh
/usr/local/bin/vnc4x0.sh
/usr/lib/ICAClient/wfcmgr

I can # all 3 of them out and it doesn't do it but if I run any one program it does do it, no matter which one..  I havend tried just dillo I will try that next and see what happens.

Not a HUGE deal, but I am just curiuos what might be causing it.

I have a similar issue also..and was curious...
when I boot my pen install the pointer is center..naturally..
when I move it for the first time...a blank menu appears. if I run the pointer over it the items all appear..if I left click the menu disappears and all seems normal otherwise.
do have an item added to xinit.. but #ing it and rebooting does not solve.
when I switch to jwm the control menu pops up....
interesting.

I think it's an oddity of the x server.  X apparently tests the mouse on its first event to make sure it is properly configured, and i think it initially gets it wrong sometimes.  I don't know any more than that.

I am not sure why this was happening.  I finally just redid my HD install over fresh and it is working fine.  It must have been something that I did.
