I have been using DSL 3.2 successfully on a number of desktops and laptops, however, the Dell Poweredge SC430 boots all the way up from LiveCD with DSL, but at the prompt to ask about setting up the screen it won't accept any input from the keyboard or the mouse.

I don't see any errors about scanning USB devices either. Anyone else run into this problem and solve it? Thanks!

My USB mouse and keyboard work fine in DSL. Are you using any cheatcodes (nousb, failsafe)? Is hotplug running through its sequence when you boot? Have you tried using the xsetup cheatcode?

Thanks for your reply.

I was booting up the defaults. After some testing I found out something unusual. At least it is unusual from my experience using DSL. If the USB Flash Drive was in any of the USB ports on the Poweredge SC430 at boot time, DSL couldn't recognize the USB keyboard/mouse. Independent of that, I did notice that it gives some error messages, forgive me too fast for me to write down, complaining about modprobe "can't" and I think it said something about "stage" something. Also,
DSL didn't recognize the NIC card.

I happen to have a CD burned of Knoppix 5.0.1. So I booted up the Poweredge SC430 with it, and has none of the above problems plus it worked with the NIC card "out of the box".

I was using DSL 3.2, I have not burned a CD-ROM yet of 3.3, perhaps these problems were already addressed? Perhaps DSL has a problem with 64-bit systems? I don't know, I'm just guessing and tossing out ideas of discussion.

But I have to tell you, DSL running on a 3Ghz processor with 1 GB of ram is screaming fast! Most anything that didn't require to go to the network that was on the desktop came up so fast, it was like changing windows in a running appication.
