Also, another question.. I tried opening some files from floppy.. I had to enter the floppy's directory, THEN mount it for the files to show up.. but after that, I could open, copy, or move any of the files. I got an access denied error.. how can I fix this??

Thanks again for all the help.

For extensions/packages, first use MyDSL.  If not, you can try to use apt (through dsl-dpkg, which can use .deb's).

I think you might need to move out of that directory and back in to "refresh" it.  Or else you might need to be root.  Or mount it with uid=1001 or something.

I downloaded the dsl-dpkg earlier and burned it to cd, then copied it to the (I think..) /home/dsl directory. But it won't let me use that either. Is dsl-dpkg supposed to go somewhere specific?

Since those packages that you want are already in mydsl, you should use those first as I have already stated.

Also, dsl-dpkg is also a mydsl extension and can be used as such. (i.e. using mydsl-load)

You should read some documentation, such as the Local Startup Documentation (first popup under dillo, or see wiki)

To use a *.deb file you have to load the dsl-dpkg extension which is available in .dsl and .unc format in the DSL repository. Once you have the extension loaded, you type
Code Sample
# dpkg -i /path-to-file/gaim.deb

and the deb package will load or, more likely, give a message complaining that gaim.deb depends on x.deb, y.deb, z.deb which are not going to be installed...
