Hey roadie, I got a message like this yesterday from the dmesg screen. Lspci didn't work but I figure the message relates to the modem:
Redundant entry in Serial pci table. Please send output of lspci - vv, this message(14e4,4212,1028,0001) and the manufacturer and name of serial board or modem board to serial-pci-info@lists.sourceforge.net. Register_serial() : autoconfig failed
I'm taking a guess that this is more than likely a winmodem too. Perhaps I should send the message to the above address but I don't know. Also, should I go into PPPConfig? I went in there yesterday and it asked me to give the dialing info so I went in there and put our internet info like password, etc. It asked me to choose from com1-com4 ports before that. Should I be in PPPConfig or is ModemConfig the right one to be in first? Thanks Roadie for the linkage, I'll check that out and see what I find. I appreciate the help
