Just found some 80mm CD-RW which I thought would be perfect for use with DSL, and transfering data between my systems.  But when I burnt some and tried reading them on my laptop (a Compaq Armada 1592DT), it wouldn't read, including under windows.  I then tried standard sized CD-RWs, but again it wouldn't read.
I used Nero 5.0 - is there a possibility that it's a setting in here and not the actual CD-ROM?  The rom is a 20X, so I would have imagined it should read them?

Older cd drives cannot read cd-rw's (just as most CD music players refuses to play cd-rw's). If you have the model number and manufacturer, do a google and see if you can find some info.
