hello,

1. i downloaded the "dsl-0.9.0.1.iso"-file.
2. burned it
3. my computer reboots, the "boot:" - prompt shows up
4. the automatic hardware detection configures my system

aaaand:

nothing!! a black screen.

i tried every boot-command and every graphic mode, it doesnt work.

ok, "dsl 2" works....

my config: p2 350mhz, 288mb ram 6 & 80 gb harddisk..........

any ideas????

thank you very much.

Did the command " vga=normal " change anything at all with the
boot screens ?

and do you have anything connected to your box?
( zip, pcmcia cards, scsi devices, anything outboard, raid, etc? )

You get the same thing I do from the default boot.

Try typing "fb1024x768" (if you use 1024x768 resolution) or "fb800x600" (for 800x600 resolution) at the Boot: prompt.

Try

dsl vga=normal xsetup

Then choose "xvesa" server and try out a few different graphics modes until you find one that you like.

Or you can boot with

dsl 2

and try "Xvesa -listmodes" at the command prompt (Capital "X") and see what graphics modes are supported by your video card.

Good Luck.
