Hello all! My first post here.

I'm having a problem with my terminal when I quit X. The text goes to the bottom, and then past the bottom. To see what I have typed or the results of a command I have to hit [Enter] 9 or 10 times.

When X started the first time, it was also the wrong size. I found how to adjust that pretty easily, but I can't seem to find the right search terms to narrow this down.

Any pointers?

Thanks

You can either change your settings on your monitor...
or boot into some video mode that your monitor is preset (see vga= cheatcodes).

Thanks! I thought the vga/frambuffer stuff was just for X, I didn't think it would affect the terminal (silly n00b that I am). And I should have mentioned that I'm working on an old laptop. What turned out to work was the cheat code: fb800x600

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
