Hey all,

I have some rather special needs. I need to build 20 small computers that boots from CD, starts a browser in fullscreen mode (real fullscreen, meaning no menus or anything - like Opera), jumps to a predefined URL and refreshes this URL once each minute.

Also, if possible, I would like to disable the mouse cursor. Finally the browser must support images, CSS and preferably XML/XSLT. The last item on that list more or less limits my choices to Firefox or Opera, as far as I know.

The computers wont have keyboard, mouse or harddisk. I plan on using VIA Epia motherboards.

Is this something that can be done with DSL?

Hope someone can help..

Thomas

Yes, I think it's possible. I'm not sure how to make it refresh once a minute though, but I'm sure the other things can be done.

I believe Opera can be setup to refresh a given URL each minute, so this particular issue have already been solved.  :)

This leaves me with the mouse cursor thing. Any ideas?

Some possible solutions from web search:
- a program named "unclutter"
- using a blank/invisible cursor (i.e. using xsetroot -cursor)

Unclutter did the trick!

Now all I need is grab DSL and see if I can make all the pieces fit together.

Thanks a bunch guys..
