Hi there
On with my bloody fluidsynth topic again :)

There must be a simple way to do this..........
I wanted to use a USB numeric keypad. When you press '1' on the keypad I want to be able to issue a command ( like a text string).....
What's the best way of doing this please?

I only want to do this so when I press '1' it loads a pianosoundfont. If I press '2' it loads an electric piano.

You can change sounds easily enough in fluidsynth by typing in it's command line...I just wanted to be able to trigger things.....I suppose it's like a macro or a batch file...

Thanks everyone

There are tons of key grabbers that execute a command on keypress.. Fluxbox has one, but since I guess you're using DSL 4 now, then there are xkey and keybjar for example..
