Okay I followed the directions from other posts to try to get my mouse working. But It still does not work.. It will show up on the screen. But when I move it, it goes to the corner of the screen and barely moves away from the corner. Im using a wireless keyboard and mouse hooked up to the mouse port.
Does anyone know how to get it so I can move my mouse all over the screen like it should?
Thanks

Choose IM/PS2 wheel mouse YES.

This will make the Xserver use the Intellimouse PS2 protocol.  Hopefully it will work.  I have tried to use an old 2 button Microsoft Mouse and it will not work correctly with DSL.  Some mice are not properly initialized by the Xserver and do not work with DSL.  The solution is to either buy a cheap wheel mouse, install the real "XFree86" Xwindows system (hard), learn the C programming language and fix the mouse bugs in the KDrive Xserver source code (even harder), or try a different distribution (not based on DSL) like Knoppix or Peanut Linux.

Good Luck.

Hey cbagger01, do you by any chance know anyware i could get some info about howto install the real xfree86 in DSL, since it is "hard"? I would be eternally thankfull for any information about this, and so would probably every other laptopDSL user that cant get happy with xvesa and fbdriver.

Thanx anyway for the clue.

Take care

f you have apt working do...
Code Sample
apt-get install x-window-system

That meta-package will probably install more than you want (xdm), but it _will_ install all the little packages that aren't so obvious (xfonts, etc.) that will drive you crazy trying to get X working.

Hope this helps.
