some (Award)bios have an option to clear ESCD (Extended System Configuratin Data) if this data is cleared. then at the first reboot the bios scans all PnP devices again. and asign new i/o, dma and irq again. in some cases where a new pci-NIC was placed in a pc it conflicts with the video. then a clear of ESCD solved the problem. maybe your bios has on option like that.
