How  can I delete java?  I installed it via "Mydsl" extension.  I know I need to be root.  How can I become root?  I tried "super user midnight commander" but couldn't navigate.  Thanks.

There's another thread on this, but use "sudo", and type the command you want to.  Or you can use "sudo" to change the root password, then log into root using "su"

thanks for the reply.  "rm" doesen't do it.  I found a thread that said  "dsl-dpkg, go dpkg-1, dpkg-remove  (package name)".  But I got command not found with those.  Usually I'll reinstall when I can't get an answer but my machine is so slow it takes a long time for me to reinstall  apps.  Java didn't work.  I set the path in Opera but no luck, plus it killed what speed my machine had.
