IMHO, with qemu still under heavy development, I don't think you will see such from me. I don't want a bunch of coasters. At least with the current offering, dsl-embedded-0.9.2, you can easily update the version of qemu, or dsl. Both the backup/restore and mydsl system are fully supported in the current offering using hdb. Also, any machine that is capable of running qemu environment will more than likely have the usb pendrive. Besides, you suggestion is to use the usb pendrive for backup.
There is a thread with someone's patches to make a remaster. However, the last time I read of it, it breaks several internal scripts. So it would be suitable only this dedicated use.
