Alright, you people are the best at this, so help a poor noob out... I'm trying to run DSL on an old p1 60mhz, 8MB ram, and has micro$oft windows 95 on it... It freezes at the splash where it says DSL HAS NO WARRANTY Blah blah.. Something flashes below it, then stops, and caps lock and scroll lock lights flash. Any ideas? I have pocket linux that can run.. Not a good day for me...   (And I have been searching the board all night, seemingly I have this problem myself..)

8MB RAM may be too small for DSL.

If you can get to the boot: prompt, you could try:

dsl 2 failsafe base vga=normal

Good Luck

I tried it, didn't work, still flashes and mocks me. I know the CD is good, I booted it up yesterday on this computer. Did I mention that i'm using a boot floppy, and that it's not going to the cd?

It could be that it doesn't recognise the CD drive. Try copying the 48 MB KNOPPIX file from the CD to c:\KNOPPIX\KNOPPIX  (using dos or windows).
