DSL is loaded into RAM by default, and all files saved into home are saved into RAM. When RAM is cleared everything goes poof. This is why there is so much effort put into developing things like backup&restore, mydsl, and remastering. The topic of backups is one of the most commonly-mentioned things in these forums, and is also covered on that Dillo page that comes up when you first load X (you did read that, yes?). Keywords for a search are "backup" "restore" and "*filetool.lst"
