Yes, DSL really shines with the toram boot option, due to it's small size. I have one machine that has a GB of ram, and with Knoppix, it can be done, but if you try and burn a cd, for instance, you can use up all your ram and then no more applications will open up. You click on them, and it just sits there, time to reboot. I have used toram with DSL on as little as 128 MB of ram, and that works fine, especially on a PII.
