I have installed Xfree86 and my serial mouse only works after an xsetup.sh I have tried every type of mouse under the serial mouse in the xfree.86 conf  (I wnow the xfree works since I used a diferent serial mouse that I borrowed)
help please .I have dsl installed this way in 20 computers for a clasroom.

you have to hand edit XF86Config-4 to set up serial mice.

change the mouse's device location from "/dev/input/mice" to "/dev/ttyS0" (for serial port 0)
change the protocal to "microsoft"

If you still can't get it to work, google for "xf86config-4 serial mouse" and look at the results it gives.

But serial mice suck.... I hate them.
