Quote | There are two point-n-click ways to install Linux software.
One is the myDSL respository. Click on the myDSL icon to install software, or download the files from the "myDSL respository is Online" link on the damnsmalllinux.org web page. Then open up the emelfm file manager, use your mouse to select the file that you downloaded and then push the "myDSL" button inside the file manager.
The other is "Synaptic" package manager. You can get it by clicking on the tools -> got memory and bandwidth -> install Synaptic menu item. |
I have tried both ways. I don't have internet in linux yet, have to wait for new modem. When I click either one, they show no connection & shut down. I have tried it with actual linux software. Nothing. Like I said, I think I'm to dos oriented right now. I'm a total newby.
