I have an old Satellite Pro 425CDT with an old version of RedHat on it.  I bought a copy of DSL and booted it up.  I can mount the existing harddisk any number of ways, but it is only RO.  How do I mount it RW, or better yet, reformat it for a clean system?

Under a root terminal you can mount it with a "-w" to make it read/write.
Code Sample
mount -w /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1

Also, while under a root terminal you can fdisk the drive if you want to wipe it out to start fresh.
