This mini how to special for...myself!

So i must not recommence every time to try and search it again....

- start computer
- goto bash (APPS -> SHELLS -> BASH)
- in bash type the following commands

* sudo su
* (you must be root to do this)

! if you type : loadkeys azerty this give : loading /usr/share/keymaps/i386/azerty/azerty.kmap.gz

! If you type now startx then you are in azerty mode

!!!BUT!!! This must be done every time you startup you're computer.

The easyest way to make this permanent is to change the content of the default keyboard.map with the content of the azerty.map
Or more technical : to delete the default.keymap , to copy the azerty.keymap and then to rename the azerty.keymap to the default.keymap.

easy not ...:)

so type the following :

- cd /usr/share/keymaps/i386/azerty/
- cp azerty.kmap.gz ../qwerty/us.kmap.gz

That's "ALL" :)

BE WARNED ! I'm not a linux guru...

If you must use an other keymap locate them and make the same thing

I did have success in DSL 0.4.8 by adding a line to one of the rc3.d config files. But I think the system has changed. you may be able to add or mod a config file in /etc/init.d, then you can have your keymap loaded with out having to overwrite things.
