Do you want to run a liveCD? It runs the os from the cd drive and memory.  If you want to install DSL to your harddrive or any of the other installation options you can do so from within a liveCD session.  Go to one of the mirrors and the current folder.  Select dsl-1.4.iso and burn the image to a cd.  Make sure you burn an image, not just copy the datafile over.  Use nero's burnimage command or that of some other cd making software.   If you have an older (much older) system and the dsl livecd you have just created won't boot, try dsl-1.4-syslinux.iso .  To boot either cd just pop it in your cd drive and turn on the computer making sure that you have boot from cd enabled in the bios.  If your comp can't do that things get more difficult.  With any luck you will boot right into a fresh, hot DSL.
