You're going to need a complete gcc 2.95 toolchain, kernel source, DSL kernel headers (and .config) extension, and the gnu-utils extension. It can be done on a DSL system (I've done it with a frugal install to a QEMU virtual machine) but it's a good deal of work to get set up. It may be possible to set up a similar environment on your CF based system but you better have at least a 512MB CF card.
The easier way is to build on a regular desktop system using a 2.4.26 based Knoppix CD and then simply move the binary module and any configs over to the target system.
