I have an old Sharp laptop that has a Cirrus Logic pcmcia bus. Several weeks of research has led me to the conclusion that I need to install the pcmcia_cs.3.2.8 module. I have the pcmcia-cs-3.2.8.tar.gz file and I've found in the pcmcia how-to that I need to, make, make install...and all that, but how do I do it in DSL? Where do the files need to go? I saw the post that suggested creating a /modules directory off of root, but as a lowly noob wishing to throw off the chains of Gates I fear I need a bit more direction.
I've seen others with similar issues related to pcmcia. Perhaps this info will help those folks too.
I should add that this is a hard drive install.
Thank you.
