Topic: Mounting ntfs drives, cannot seem to access them

I am trying to mount a ntfs drive at a shell by doing sudo -H mount -t ntfs /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1. This works but when I try and access this directory I get a permission denied error. Also as I do not have the root password I am unable to su into root to view the files/folders that way.

Help!

Does

mount /mnt/hda1

work?

If so, it should allow normal user (IE: not only "root" super user) access to the partition.

That works thanks! I am used to running the mount command as stated above!.

I am trying to set up DSL so that once it is working with a package I will install I want to re-master DSL with this package. How do I go about this?. Currently I ram running DSL entirely in RAM

Try searching the forums for the keyword

remaster

and search ALL FORUMS and FROM THE BEGINNING or NEWER

Cheers for that - found the thread I needed. Still i see my other post has foxed people . another problem I seem to have where I find no answers ( long story and not related to this distro)
