No I do not get an error while tryng to mound although when I enter the command terminal doesnt do anything...at all it doesnt say  if mounting failed or that it worked, it doesent even rewrite the user name before the curser on the next line in terminal.

I think I found a clue when booting it says something like this:

lists a bunch of stuff,"auto configuring" etc. and then:

auto mounter started for floppy cdrom,

cloop: initializing cloop 2.01

mount: no medium found

unmount /cdrom: not mounted

and then more lines about mounting my hdd partitions.

does that help any?

mount: block device /dev/cdrom is write pertected,mounting read only
and then
mount:no medium found

I take it my dvdrom doesnt support dvdrw?
