I installed DSL 1.5 on an older 276Mhz 28Mb RAM machine last night and one thing that I noticed was that when I ran DSL as a Live CD I had a coloured background and all the toolbars etc looked nice and colourful. After the install and DSL is booted from the hard disk I have a grey & black background and the toolbars are black and not very nice looking at all. I read somewhere that it was to do with my colour depth setting (which I remember setting to 32bit) being too low. How do I change this now?
I also tried adding another user (so I didn't have to run as root all the time) but after supposedly adding it (after rebooting) it said that my login was incorrect. I tried this a number of times and I'm sure I was getting the login details correct.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Bailz.
