Stumbled onto DSL the other day, and love how well it runs on almost all of my systems, however, I do have one problem I hope someone can help me with:

I have installed DSL onto an old NEC Versa SX Laptop.  I have a 6gig Hardrive and 128m of Ram installed.  I am using a Netgear EA 101 USB ethernet adaptor, as the 3com Lan Card quit working for me a while ago.  I am using a generic PS2 two button mouse, as opposed to the touchpad, because I never have been very good about not hitting the touchpad while I type.

I used the partitioning software available though MyDSL, and reconfigured the 6gig hardrive as follows: 0-500m - / , 501-5890m - /usr, 5891-6014 (end of the drive) - swap.  This was the same partitioning scheme that I had Fedora Core running with, so I kept it.  The Hardrive installation went without a hitch, and it runs a helluva lot faster than Winblows ever did on this system.

Now the problem - the system runs great to start with, however, from time to time it hangs in the middle of whatever I am doing.  This usually happens while I am trying to download more of the MyDSL packages, but it has also happened in the middle of checking my email, playing Doom, and editting the background picture with Gimp.  When it hangs, the only thing that I have been able to do to clear it is power off, and start over.

Anyone that has a solution I may try, please help.
Thanks - P

Think I figured it out.  Poking around on my own, and with a little help from my brother, discovered the error log.  Upon reading what the computer was doing at the time of crash, discovered that it had erred while accessing the kaweth device (Netgear USB ethernet adaptor), halting the system when it failed to resolve the error.  If I can find and figure out how to use the appropriate device drivers rather than relying on the system defaults, I will post how I got around the problem here.
