Hi there,

I have managed to get a Netgear WG511 (v1) online by using the Prism driver.
The problem is, that I had to run the makewritable script and copy the isl3890 file to /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/  (including making the  "firmware" dir) each time i boot.
I solved that by copying to my bootlocal.sh  the portion of the mkwritable script that copies(?) the /usr directory to ramdisk , and then created a symbolic link from where i have backed up the firmware file (/opt/firmware)

Now i get errors when starting about not being able to load the Prism driver, however it boots fine, and all I have to do is click the control panel and run the Prism2 applet.

Is there a better way for me to accomplish this, and further, is there a way i can set this up so i don't even need to go to the Prism2 setup each time? It would be nice if the card were already configured at boottime.

I've been trying like heck to search the forums to find answers, and thats how i've gotten this far, but this time i need some intervention :)   Thanks in advance.

By the way, here is a copy of my "bootlocal.sh"
-----------------------------------------------------------

cp -srd /KNOPPIX/usr/ /ramdisk
   ln -sf /ramdisk/usr/X11R6/lib/X11 /ramdisk/usr/lib/
   ln -sf /ramdisk/usr /

ln -s /opt/firmware /ramdisk/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware
