red (up arrow) for downloads
and
white (down arrow) for uploads,
which doesn't seem quite right ?

I thought the same thing.  It seems to me that a more logical display would be the reverse of what it actually is.  Could be that the arrows mean something other than the direction of traffic, or maybe the programmer just has a different point of view.
Anyway, i've been looking at the colors and numbers only, and not paying attention to which arrow is active.
