When firing up DSL on my recently acquired notebook (Compaq Armada 1750) I get the following at bootup:

probing ide-softraid... pdcraid.o
probing ide-softraid... silraid.o

WTF does this mean, what's it doing, and how do I stop it? It wastes about a minute of bootup time probing for non-existant raid. Tried booting with (a made up) noraid option, didn't work (of course). Any ideas?

Thanks,
Del

Nice to know the raid drivers are working though~

I have since learned that the hdd was toast. Removing it from the machine cured the raid probing :) Now just using DSL on a 256Mb usb stick.
