Hello, I've installed 4.4.10 on an old 600MHz Celeron box (256MB RAM, 8 GB HD, etc).  It's an amazing distro once all the install issues are worked out.  This machine is being used mainly for internet access by a low income family and they (and I) are very grateful to the developers of DSL.

On to the problem at hand: I'm trying to install a printer and I can't get it to work.  It's either an HP Laserjet 3100 or 3150.  The printer is an AIO (All in One) but the family needs only the printing function.  How do I install the printer correctly?  It's connected to the Parallel port.

I see this family every 2 or 3 weeks, so I don't have the machine in front of me at the moment.  They want the ability to print PDF files, simple web pages (email, recipes, etc).

Thanks for your help!

I did not realize that it was that complicated.  I thought I could just "Add a printer" and pick a driver.  When I tried that, none of the drivers worked.  I guess it's time to look up CUPS.
