Sorry don't know where this would fall under so i posted under networking too.

I am looking to setup a print server on a pentium 266mhz machine with 32mb ram and a 4g hd.  I have a pcmcia network card in got it to work and setup printing via the wizard but do not know what steps to take now.  I want to be able to print from xp clients to the optra r (hp laserjet 4 clone) via RAW or LDP protocols (built into xp).  Any suggestions or help to use with DSL or another distro?  Also I am somewhat knew to linux and have been using for only a year and now alot more with servers moving from win2k3 server to fedora 4 so step by step may help ALOT. Thanks

The samba myDSL extension should support Windows printing shares.

You will need to know your printer name from the printer setup process.

THIS is the tiniest print server linux I've found, and should work with your laserjet 4 clone flawlessly.

I'm trying to not use samba and would rather use ip printing with ldp or raw protocol

As far as that other print server, i saw this before but see no instruction on how to use it with a pcmcia card and not a built in card or a regular pc and not a laptop.  Know of any way?
