Hi SaidinUnleashed and folks,

It is my pleasure reading;
Compiling Problems and DSL, read before posting compile issues
http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=9586

I have following questions;
1)
According to point 1.  Install the gnu-utils, dpkg, gcc1, gtk2, tcl/tk, as well as any other system extensions.
It will definitely increase the size of DSL unless their rpm packages can be found, installed and removed totally afte compilation.

2)
According to point 3. Compile in another distro.
This is a good recommendation.  But I haven't figured out how to remove the newly installed package to DSL seamlessly without much complicate re-work if there are symbolic links etc.

3)
If a package to be installed is working on kernel 2.6 without tested on kernel 2.4.  Is there a way to test it with least effort, before tranferring the package on DSL, after being installed on kernel 2.6.  Some newly developed packages are without old version.

Advice would be much appreciated.  TIA

B.R.
