Make sure you've got all your settings correct?
Username: username@gmail.com pop.gmail.com, SSL, port 995, with no SPA smtp.gmail.com, SSL, 465 Server Requires Authentication.
I was having a MASSIVE migraine-indicing time trying to configure another Email Client, all because I had a comma where there should've been a period.
Not sure about why GMail won't save your email where you tell it to, but once I correct the comma/period thing, Gmail works without a hitch.
