Hi friends, I want to ask how to install an application that i've downloaded, (stored in floppy or CD), but in a different PC that it's not possible to connect to internet.
I use DSL 2.3 in this way: I boot from a floppy and DSL starts from an imagine in /KNOPPIX in a hard disk. And then, this changes (the instaled app) will remain installed when I shut down the system?.

Hope I explain myself, sorry for my english and thanks in advance.

Galbi. (from Argentina).

They won't remain installed, but if set up properly they will reinstall automatically when you boot.  If there is not a directory called "mydsl" in the same place as the "KNOPPIX" directory, just create one.  Then add your myDSL apps to that directory.

Thanks Mikshaw for your answer, but what do you mean, I must copy the app. file to the mydsl directory? I mean the file just as I've downloaded, or it must be installed in that directory (if that's possible).
As you can see, I'm just starting to learn Linux, so sorry for my fool questions.

Make a directoy(folder) > name it myDSL > put the dsl files you want in there. You can install them from a running system by clicking them to highlight and clicking the myDSL button in emelfm. If you have that myDSL folder when booting it will find it and install them automagicaly.

The mydsl directory is for the compressed myDSL extensions, *.dsl, *.tar.gz, *.uci.  The files you put in there are the files you get from the mydsl repository, uninstalled, and they will install automatically when you boot up.

If you're talking abut other applications, such as debian packages, i can't help.
