msn protocol doesnt work since u can only download version 0.58 with apt-get, which is 3.5 years old, msn protocol has changed since then
i dont think that it could be installed easily, as dsl doesnt have gtk2.0 distributed, if anybody cant sort this out pls post it here
i couldnt find any other chat program for dsl that worked, amsn doesnt even start if i click on its icon

as it took me an hour to find out other new dsl users might be interested as well:
in mydsl gtk2 install gtk2 and then gtk2 gaim, and now it should work
