As I've said before, and i still believe, "newer" isn't synonymous to "better". If a software is old and still works, then it is not too old.
If it doesn't work anymore, this is where a problem lies. An associated problem, though, is that it's very easy to say stuff doesn't work. Well, what is it that doesn't work? It isn't going to be fixed if the devs don't know it's broken.
