i have just d/l'd the opera 9.10 unc file, and it is smooth and small footprint. i would like to upgrade the flash player. it is currently sitting in my d/l folder. how do i install the flash player upgrade? it is a tar-gz filetype.

You might try removing the current plugin and install it by going to a flash-laden site & following the "install plugin" instructions.  Just keep in mind that Flash 9 is unstable in Opera. It was built specifically for Gtk2 browsers, for some reason, and simply refuses to run at all in Gtk1/Qt browsers. Opera is apparently an exception, but at this time it seems to have incomplete support.
