Use flash 7. If you search the forum, Robert posted a link where it can still be downloaded. I've had no problems with flash 7 and FF 1.0.6.

I've noticed more and more video links that require flash 9. Anybody find a stable solution using firefox?

EDIT: Just found this tidbit:

"The features and updates added to Flash Player utilize technology in the latest operating systems for performance, functionality, and efficiency. These subsystems are not found in the older operating systems. Additionally, the manufacturers will no longer fix issues in these operating systems, making it impossible to address Flash Player issues with root causes in the operating system."

If they really are that concerned about security, I would recommend curtailing support for MS os, and writing ONLY for linux. I'll email them immediately. :cool:

You won't get too far with that idea considering the ratio between Windows users and Linux users, and Adobe still makes their money by selling their software and services. Support the open source solution to Flash if you want something that's going to (eventually) work well in Linux:

I would recommend that video sites dump Flash altogether. It has always been bloated and unstable, and just about any browser that supports it also supports embedded video.

I took your suggestion and spent a few hours building source code to arrive at libgnashplugin.so. Unfortunately, now nothing loads...think I'll go back to flash 7....

(I built everything but the test libs).
